Please keep in mind that this iteration of Pyro is an X2 AU specifically designed to avoid X2's stupid ending and bypass the third movie altogether.

john [ PYRO ] allerdyce
There's this thing John does that a lot of people do which is really horrible and definitely outside the boundaries of regular jerk behavior: he slutshames when he gets mad, because that's the kind of asshole he is. I try not to have him do it a lot because this is something people have to deal with in everyday real life and it's tiring as fuck, but sometimes he will come out with these statements that are really horrible and I just wanted to note this is entirely IC and not at all representative of my own views. Honestly, they're not even representative of his — it's something he says deliberately to be awful, though he's oblivious to exactly how awful and widespread it is because, well, he's a guy and he's straight and it's something he does to other people and other people don't do to him. If he realized, he might not do it anymore. Or he still might, because he's capable of being exactly that kind of douchebag.

I am really sorry if it happens, and will make every effort not to do it if possible. But it tends to come out with Rogue, particularly because he's still a little jealous of her and Bobby.

For example, in this thread he pulls that shit with Rogue (referencing a simultaneous thread Rogue is having with Gambit) because they've been arguing and he thinks she's being stupid, and also he's mad on Bobby's behalf that she could be construed as flirting with Gambit — even though it's NOT ANY OF HIS BUSINESS and he's not even friends with Bobby anymore. Rogue's player has not, at the time of writing this, contacted me with any problems about what John said but I feel a little uncomfortable with what John did, so I'm writing about it. I know it may come up again.

part i.
Character name: St. John Allerdyce (Pyro)
Fandom: X-Men movies
Species: mutant
Character powers: pyrokinesis (control only, he can't create fire, but he can also control fire created by other pyrokinetics)

part ii.
1.) Is it acceptable for your character to be mind-controlled or persuaded? How susceptible are they to mind control, hypnotism, or suggestion?
Yes! John has no mental defenses, sadly.
2.) Is it acceptable for your character to have their mind read? Does this include traumatic memories? What is their mind like (disturbing, orderly, joyful, surprisingly empty, etc.)? If the character has psychic walls or preventative measures against psychic interference, please explain.
Please feel free. John is an often angry or at least irritable person, but his mind is not a bad place, and his morality not all that questionable, for someone who's a terrorist. He is not obsessed with fire and you will not find any OMG SO BEAUTIFUL, SO DEADLY crap like that, he's quite pragmatic about his mutation. The Cuckoos did help stick a very basic sort of telepathic wall in his head, but it's not a defense — any trained telepath could smash right through it. What it does is serve as a cover for his thoughts. If you didn't look closely, then he would appear to be thinking normal, everyday, non-violent thoughts, all calm and boring. But if you watched him for a while, you might notice the thoughts eventually repeat themselves, like a tape, that things are too regular and boring.
3.) Are thoughts mentioned in narration acceptable for a telepath to pick up?
If the thoughts are strong, like HOLY FUCK I'M GONNA HAUL OFF AND PUNCH THIS GUY, then yes! (And in any case, John's face tends to be an open book.)
4.) What about emotions, in the case of an empath? What sort of general emotional reading would such a character receive from yours?
Assuming the telepath or empath is looking beyond the cover, John is usually in a state of irritation and paranoia.
5.) Are there any aspects of your character's mind, emotions, or memories you would like to be picked up, mentioned, or used in character? Conversely, is there anything that should not be noticed, or at least never mentioned?
He does think about Magneto and the Brotherhood a lot, they are foremost on his mind, so feel free to pick that up.

part iii.
1.) Physically speaking, what stands out about your character? Imposing size? Physical scarring? Tattoos?
He looks scruffy and mildly disreputable, but he's also only 5'8 so it may not be very threatening, depending on your character.
2.) Is your character immune to any of the following: poisons, chemical agents, telekinetic influence, radiation, or types of illnesses?
He's not immune to fire, but his reflexes and ability to control just about any fire, even fire "belonging" to other pyrokinetics, means it is unlikely he will be burnt.
3.) Is your character physiologically different from a human in any way? This can include their blood, skin, hair, et cetera being made up of something unusual or simply differing in construction and durability.
Mutants have an x-gene!
4.) Are you amenable to having your character be harmed in any way? How far are you comfortable with injury to you character going? Does this include being fed on by vampires, willingly or unwillingly?
Please feel free. Maiming is fine.
5.) Is it acceptable for other characters with abilities of shapeshifting or disguise to imitate your character? Does this include ability mimicry?
Yes, please feel free.

part iv.
1.) Can your character's presence or aura be noticed by other characters, and how would it look/feel to them? How would it manifest to a character with no supernatural abilities, if at all?
It could be a sort of dirty orange to reflect his fire powers and usual irritation.
2.) Can your character be affected by magic spells and curses?
Yep.
3.) Can your character be affected by sin and corruption, and be tempted toward expressing their darker urges (of whatever flavor)?
Absolutely.
4. What sort of sins is the character prone toward, and how might they best be tempted, if you are interested in such an event?
Wrath would be a big one for him, he does have a temper. Occasionally he says misogynistic things and if he were nicer then he might be a Nice Guy, but there's no dark hidden woman-hating part of him, it's only a function of his supreme jerkitude.
5.) Are you amenable to the character receiving prophetic visions, including as part of a plot?
Sure.

part v.
1.) Is canon-puncturing or fourth-walling acceptable? We encourage people to tread extremely lightly with allowing their character to learn they are fictional.
Sure.
2. Is threadjacking allowed? Under what circumstances?
Go for it whenever.
3. Is it acceptable for canonmates that are updated further than yours to inform your character of events yours has not yet experienced?
Go ahead. He's AU anyway.
4. Are there triggering or upsetting topics you would like other characters to avoid mentioning to yours for the sake of continued comfort (racist words, homophobia, self-injury, etc.)?
Nope. I apologize for any misogyny, by the way, and will try to keep abreast of who would prefer not to see it.
